About Us

Rocky Mountain (Denver) Chapter 5006

Rocky Mountain USA Dance is a non-profit organization, serving the Denver, CO metro area, whose mission is to support and promote community interest in Ballroom Dance.

We tailor our mission a little differently from that of the national group because, per capita, the area is home to a very large number of studios, groups, and colleges offering dance instruction. Due to this unique environment, our chapter focuses less on teaching ballroom dance and instead provides more opportunities to practice and perform ballroom dancing skills.

The following opportunities are offered to the Denver Metro community at little or no cost:

  1. Public dances
  2. Yearly showcase event
  3. Ballroom dance demonstrations at local events
  4. Regional and national USADance amateur competition participation

Membership

We encourage you to become a member of USA Dance, to show your support Ballroom dancing in the United States, and to enjoy the benefits of membership.

USA Dance has membership categories for both Social (recreational) and Athlete (competition) dancers. Because our local competitions are not officially sanctioned, we allow dancers in any membership category to participate. Note that you will need an "Athlete" membership if you wish to compete in sanctioned events elsewhere.

To find out more about becoming a USA Dance member, please visit the USA Dance Membership page. Or, go directly to the membership portal to join or renew your membership.

How You Can Help

Our Chapter, as with any membership organization, needs member support. The important thing is to attend as many functions as you can and let your board members know if these functions meet your expectations.

Volunteer to help during functions; this could be welcoming arrivals at the door, set-up and clean-up after our events, making newcomers feel welcome. Help with publicity, planning events but first and foremost, GET ON THE DANCE FLOOR at every opportunity! Introduce your friends and acquaintances to ballroom dancing. Invite them to chapter activities and encourage them to become members of USA Dance Chapter #5006.

USA Dance is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, national organization committed to improving the quantity and quality of ballroom dance in the United States. USA Dance sanctions competitions and participants must be members of USA Dance to compete. USA Dance volunteers work, educate the public about the physical, mental and social benefits of dance.
